SolarSolar power in a nutshell is the conversion of sunlight into electricity and there are two main ways in which we can harness this solar energy:
Solar electrical power can be installed for self supply or export to the grid and requires Solar PV modules or panels; these versatile panels can be situated on rooftops, replace roof panels, provide wall cladding or even be freestanding. Recently, costs to install have fallen dramatically and with an expected maintenance free life of over 20 years, Solar PV may be your preferred option especially as output from the panels will, in most cases, exceed your energy demand, generating income to offset the cost of your grid supply.
The recently introduced Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) for solar thermal could bring the payback of the installation down to below ten years which is very encouraging but to find out more, contact Alistair Fell, our Renewables Consultant via the office for a ‘no obligation’ chat on 01228 40626. |
